A leader in the naturopathic community in Ontario known for her work in the specialized area of bioidentical hormone replacement, Dr. Smith lectured for the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Medicine in April 2016 regarding the safety and smooth integration of this treatment modality into naturopathic practice.
Dr. Smith focuses on hormonal health and treats many patients with thyroid and endocrine-related conditions, but also works with a lot of complex or undiagnosed gastrointestinal patients. She excels as a diagnostician working to solve complex health problems with many patients who have suffered chronic conditions for years. Additionally, Dr. Smith is unique in her ability to help patients where there is an overlap with environmental illness and hormone disruption.
Dr. Smith uses both blood test and various functional tests in her practice and works with medical doctors and specialists in an integrated, personalized, patient-centered model of care.
You don’t ever really understand the saying, ‘Health is wealth’ until quite suddenly, you do. It is everything. The bottom line is, when traditional medicine meets modern medicine, the transformation that is possible is truly exciting. I love the art and practice of this work, and I love working together with my patients to get them living a more full, healthy and happy life.
